We had the good fortune of connecting with Valencia Payne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Valencia, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
The habits I have for maintaining a successful business is to stay completely focused. I have a daily regimen that I follow to keep my company updated with fresh content and products. I scheduled at least an hour for each task to be completed throughout the duration of by day.

What should our readers know about your business?
When starting and operating a business, anything that is done right will not be a smooth path. There are many twists and turns. There are always hardships when running a business and promoting your brand. The two most important issues that you will experience are a few financial hardships, but that is to be expected as I was taught growing up, you have to spend a little money to make a little money. Second, is to learn to market your brand on a budget, you don’t have to spend thousands or millions of dollars to market your brand and business.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting me in the Houston area, I would take her to River Oaks District for shopping and eating. I would also take here to Rice Village for more shopping and great food. Lastly, we would visit the Galleria Mall and shop high fashion designer brands.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It took a village that supported me and placed me on the platform that I am on today. So that would be my parents, all my instructors from High School thru Graduate School, and my military friends and colleagues.
