We had the good fortune of connecting with Vanessa Harrigan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vanessa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I knew if I wanted to be wealthy I couldn’t make it happen working for someone else. I wanted the luxury of creating something that was mine and I can actually be proud of it.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have a lot going on right now and sometimes as a creative in business it can get overwhelming because I have so many ideas that come to mind everyday. What I’ve learned is that not every idea is not meant for you to pursue. I own a lifestyle brand which was once just a skincare line but I am working on rebranding, I will be incorporating everything a woman needs to become a better version of herself from self love courses, financial literacy, how to master the art of being true to self, loungewear, skincare and so much more. I also started a podcast ” Comfortably Me” just about to wrap up the first season. I created launched this podcast with the mission to help people become more comfortable with who they are and debunk the lies society has feed them and/or the lies that they have feed themselves most of their life. Being able juggle everything is a challenge but when the mission is clear, the passion or motivation never dies.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I still fairly new here to Houston, I usually frequent the same places and areas. It’s a must to have breakfast at The Breakfast Klub, the food there is worth the wait. After that we can walk it out downtown take pictures in front of the Houston sign, than head to home to change as we get ready for night life we can have dinner at Joey Uptown, than we can head to Pinestripes for a night bowling. We can go to the Galleria mall for some shopping on a weekday because it gets too crazy during the weekend, we can head to Moxies for food and drinks.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family, friends and my tribe on social media that have been rooting for me since the beginning. It’s refreshing yet expected to have family and friends to support me but when people who I have never met, live in different parts of the world, and have different backgrounds support me it’s an amazing feeling.
