We had the good fortune of connecting with Verlincia Williams and Vikki Grodner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Verlincia and Vikki, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
Vikki – I believe that in life and in business it is vitally important to create a life of meaning and service. This has been a standard throughout my career. In our current business — the Hospitality Network Group at Keller Williams — we strive to serve our clients, internally and externally, in achieving their goals and objectives. For our external clients, this means helping them to understand the real estate buying and selling process; to help them achieve their goals in acquiring a property, whether a first home, a forever home or an investment property; and in marketing their property for sale in the most effective way possible.
Internally, it is to make sure that our real estate agents and other team members have the tools and support they need to achieve their personal and professional goals and also to serve those real estate clients in the best manner possible.
In a nutshell, success to me is when all stakeholders in our business and process feel valued, heard and supported.

Verlincia – My success is defined as finding pleasure in completing tasks for others to achieve their goals. Success requires setting goals and challenges that will keep your business moving forward. Goals can be small or large however, your goals have to set you apart from other businesses that are considered competition. One goal that I have is to treat clients like family. With this in mind, customer service is most important. There are several agents in the Houston area and clients are free to pick anyone. If I can help my client to find the home they want and obtain a referral from them. I have completed my goal. Many people are forced to work but to be successful in my eyes is to be happy in completing tasks for your clients. I receive happiness just by helping others to accomplish their goals or dreams. Whether it’s helping a first-time home buyer, helping others accomplish their retirement dreams, or assisting others to get their dream home. The more I help others, the more I feel that I am accomplishing my goal as a successful realtor.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Vikki – The Hospitality Network Group at Keller WIlliams is a team of dedicated real estate consultants who work collaboratively to serve our clients in the most effective manner possible with an emphasis on being Client Focused and Performance Driven. Our unique approach means we see big potential in every moment, and care deeply about what we can do to fulfill our clients’ specific needs, goals and objectives. We currently have real estate agents in Houston, as well as throughout the state of Alabama. We also have an interior design division, Hospitality Home, and a short-term rental property management division, HNG Property Rentals. The backgrounds of our team members are varied. In my particular case, I have served as the founder of a non-profit, a marketing and business development executive to companies located in New York City, Atlanta and Virginia, and as a certified interior decorator. In my experience, regardless of the industry, any career requires vision, hard work and positive focus. So has it been easy? No. But has it been worth it? Unequivocally yes. Again, perseverance and staying focused on both the clients you are serving and the end goal are vital to finding success and fulfillment.

Verlincia – Customer Service sets my business apart from everyone. I use the “Golden Rule” in every transaction. Treat others as I want to be treated. I’m most proud to offer my services to everyone who accepts them. I love to work with all people at every stage in life. I obtained my business sense from prior experience, my productivity coach, Belle Lawrence, and the expertise of my team leader, Vikki Grodner. Becoming a realtor in the Houston market is not easy, but having a special niche will set you apart from your competition. People wanted to be treated nicely and not as a transaction.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Verlincia – Some fun places to visit in Houston are Bowlmor Lanes, Star Cinema Grill, Dave & Busters, iFly, and the Downtown Aquarium. I enjoy these places with family, on date nights, and girl’s nights.

Vikki – As an interior designer and lover of all things home, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the fabulous options and energy at Native Citizen. This furniture store/art gallery is EVERYTHING and I love that it features the thrilling art of Edgar Medina, as well as beautiful and interesting furniture and home decor. In fact, my favorite piece at the Hospitality Network Group office in Houston — the desk — came from Native Citizen!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Verlincia – My shoutout is to Vikki Grodner, she has been a very influential person in my real estate career. She has given me knowledge and advice in the real estate business. We met through social media. After speaking with her I knew she would be a great mentor. Her experience and expertise have assisted me with transaction “hiccups”. This helps me to know that any issue can be resolved, sometimes you have to think outside of the box. She has continued to assist me in my career in several ways. I am very thankful.

Vikki – Verlincia Williams is an invaluable member of the Hospitality Network Group team in Houston. Her care for meeting clients’ needs and strong participation in support of the team and our client initiatives is so important to our presence and client services in Houston. We also love the support we receive from the Houston Met office CEO Kenneth Zarella, who has really embraced our presence when the Hospitality Network Group entered the Houston market earlier this year. He has been both a great cheerleader and guide to everything Houston.
