We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronica Gonzales and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Veronica, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
I just started my career in the insurance industry. My ultimate end goal for my career is owning multiple agencies. And expanding my husbands company as well.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Starting my career in insurance wasn’t easy but worth it. If it wasn’t for my husband I would have never changed careers. I come from the hospitality industry bars, restaurants and clubs. Once Covid hit us with the first shut down, my job was pretty much gone. When this happened it made me realize I needed to make a career change. The economy shutting down i knew my industry wouldn’t be the same. My husband suggested that I look into pursuing a career in insurance so I did. I went to Texas School of Insurance to take both courses for Property and Casualty and Life, Accident, Heath and HMO and took both tests right after. After that, I searched for an insurance agent that would be willing to train me. The first company I was hired at was horrible. They knew I had no training and said they would train me but did not. This definitely made me more nervous about being in a field I knew nothing about but I did not give up. My husband pushed me to keep looking. So I did and found a great agent who was willing to train me completely!!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would first have dinner at El Tiempo in Vintage Park. Then walk over to one of my favorite bars Brixology for some craft cocktails.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a huge shout out to my husband Eddie Gonzales. If it wasn’t for him I would have never made the jump into changing careers. He believed in me when I did not believe in myself. He pushed me harder than anyone has ever.
