We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria M’lynn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Victoria, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk can be intimidating for me at times but recently I’ve been able to find a balance in it. As cliche as it is, growth is found outside of your comfort zone. I’ve had to take action towards my goals which involve potential rejections from clients, not meeting expectations of mine and encountering problems I may not have prepared for. However, all of those present the opportunity for growth and can be used as fuel to push on even harder when using the correct mindset. A ‘no’ doesn’t mean never, unmet expectations are a tool in recalibration, and new problems breed new solutions and better outcomes for the future.

Please tell us more about your art. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I like that my art has variety to it and that a bigger audience is able to appreciate it. I’ve been blessed enough to have the opportunity to work in several different markets including brand work, competitions, car shows/promotions, workshops and training sessions. I only got those opportunities by saying yes even when I was nervous enough to say no. My network both in front and behind the camera have been my biggest asset as well. I would say getting to this point was challenging but not necessarily hard. There are certain steps to take, discipline needed in your daily actions as well as your mindset, and believing you’ll succeed more than you’ll fail. One of my biggest lessons was finding out how essential it is to be your own biggest fan. If you can’t even sell yourself to yourself, how can you expect others to invest in you?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have a few solid photographer friends I’ve met through modeling that have supported me in my endeavors. To name a few would be Challenor @challeshotme, Dawson @dawson_alan, Dylan @midnightsnap.ig, and Sam @samw1nphotogr. Some fellow creatives that continue to inspire and uplift me are Katie @katie.marie.edwards, Nicholas @sentientpoison, and Jazmyn @jazmynraymay.
