Hi Whitley, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
In January of 2021, I decided to quit my job and go full force with my business. I decided to stop “self-destructing “, and instead fill my thought process with a different narrative. What if everything goes right, instead of ” what if I don’t succeed? ” If you know me then you know I love taking risks lol, I love stepping out on faith and seeing where it will take me. I am a firm believer in the saying ” There is no elevation in comfort “. In order to reach your full potential, you have to be willing to get uncomfortable fast and challenge anything, especially yourself. Taking risks has not only allowed my company to grow but most importantly it allowed me to grow as a person.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Technically speaking I am a full-time baker, but starting March 1st, 2022 ill be switching things up a little more. Not only will my company be converting to full vegan cookies only. But we will also be implementing our herbal tonics, elderberry syrups, and herbal teas in as well. So if any category I would always choose ” other “, because I hate to limit myself to only one thing.

Starting a business no matter how easy it looks I promise you it’s not, and if you have a business and you think otherwise you’re not doing something right. I’m very transparent in my journey. I want people to see the lows just as much as they see the highs. I got to where I am today simply by believing and trusting in myself even when the things around me didn’t make sense. I got here by putting myself first, I realized when my personal life would be unorganized, stressed and all over the place, everything around me would be as well. I had to do a lot of self-reflecting, journaling, and working on my mental health. Once I chose me everything else around me slowly started to flow together so much more, When people see me and my brand I want them to remember my journey was very similar to theirs. I want them to look at me and believe in themselves. Because if I can defeat the odds, so can you, And if you don’t learn anything from me at all I want you to know that you’re capable of it all, as long as you put yourself first, which honestly speaking was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, everything will flow as it should

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would go to every vegan food truck and restaurant around the city until they got tired of me lol! Starting with Lindiana’s Southern Kitchen, they have the best vegan soul food I’ve had thus far. I personally have been wanting to visit Cockrell Butterfly Center for some time now as well so I would love to stop by and maybe visit a few more museums in the area as well. Even though I’ve been living in Houston for about 6 years now the city is so big I’m constantly still exploring every day myself.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Not to sound cliche, but I wouldn’t be where I am now if it wasn’t for my supporters. These are the people who constantly pushed me to be my best self even if I didn’t think it was possible. They saw something in me that I didn’t see within myself. Because of them I know that I am capable of anything, because of them I believe in miracles, because of them I know the possibilities are endless.

I always affirm myself with ” I am “, simply because I believe that I am any and everything I want to be. I can achieve anything I put my mind to, and I am successful and all that I do. Tell yourself these things every time you feel discouraged and watch how the narrative changes for you.
