We had the good fortune of connecting with Yolanda Vallier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yolanda, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
One of the habits that I formed early on was to wake up and view each day as a fresh start. Thanking God for another day to be great, forgiving myself for all the areas where I fell short the day before, and acknowledging the actions I took and the help I received that moved the needle, even if just a tiny bit. This mindset keeps me free to dream and to continue to believe in the vision for my business. Positive energy is fuel to me. So when I start my day off with gratitude, forgiveness, and hope, it makes everything else manageable.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Styled and Staged Spaces, we are a team of artists and spaces are our canvas. We design interiors to either live in or to sell. We have amassed a beautiful portfolio of work, created by helping our clients elevate their homes, offices, and investment properties in the most beautiful ways!! Our journey has not been a perfect one, but it has been made a lot smoother by the strategic partnerships created with manufacturers, tradesmen, and real estate professionals. Communication and relationship skills are so important. And in business, it becomes evident very early on that success hinges on mastering both. My greatest output goal in business, even beyond revenue, is that clients who partner with Styled and Staged Spaces are left pleased, excited and satisfied, all credited to their encounter with SASS.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Houston has so much to offer everyone of all ages and interests! Being from a more seasoned generation, my favorite pass times are a bit more laid back. If my good good friend came to visit for a week, these are the things I would likely squeeze in as must see’s/do’s: A look and see at The Post,
Seafood in Kemah,
An evening picnic and show at Miller Outdoor Theater,
A day at the Museums of Fine Art and the Muesum of Natural Science,
Tex Mex dinner at Gringo’s,
And a night of wine and girl chat in my back yard oasis!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a shout out to my greatest supporter, my constant encourager, my best friend for life, my husband, John Vallier. There’s so much I could say about John Vallier, but everyone who knows him well will attest that, when he speaks he speaks with conviction and confidence. He is the person that pushed me towards entrepreneurship. Reminding me always of my creative strengths, my leadership skills, and my enate ability to ‘never be scared’. So when he constantly tells me, “You got this”, I always believe him.
