We had the good fortune of connecting with Zain Bhai and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zain, how do you define success?
We live in a world right now that praises hustle culture, and where most people are longing for enormous amounts of money. And although there is nothing wrong with that mindset, it’s just not for me, because there will always be someone who has more money than you, so I can’t tie my feeling of success to something tangible like money. I define success as being able to wake up every day, look in the mirror, and be proud of myself and what I’ve accomplished. I define success as being happy. I look at success as a journey, not a destination.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The beauty of fashion is that it truly is an industry where anyone can create content they are passionate about. Fashion is something so personal and I personally use it as an expressive outlet. I use fashion as a way to express myself to the world.
What sets me apart? I’d say my genuine love, passion, and interest in what I’m doing.
I am not where I want to be professionally at all, and it has proven to be a very slow and steady rise. It is very difficult pouring hours of your time into a shoot, or an Instagram reel, only for it to fail and receive no views. So that Is definitely the hardest part, not letting all blows discourage you from continuing & trying again.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh that’s a great question! I love Houston, I was born and raised in the area so I’m pretty confident I know some good spots!
For food, Thai Gourmet is must, authentic Thai food that is truly some of the best I’ve had.
Joey Uptown for modern American, with amazing ambiance.
Feeling fancy? Steak48 or LeColonial in River Oaks District are great restaurants to eat amazing food and enjoy beautiful ambiance as well.
Lastly, one of my favorite hole in the wall restaurants, M&M Grill. Mexican and Mediterranean fusion, and it’s amazing.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to dedicate it to my parents.
