We had the good fortune of connecting with Zamia Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zamia, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I definitely think it depends on the risk sometimes risks are worth taking to build a strong foundation, sometimes you have to take some risk to accomplish things. You wouldn’t have accomplished the “normal way“, but sometimes trying to take big risks can make everything fall apart.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It definitely wasn’t easy, I have been doing constant creating for a minute while also going to school as a full-time student majoring in psychology, while also working another full-time job. It’s definitely time consuming and it’s some thing that you really have to focus and getting a lot of organization skills for. One of my biggest lessons and challenges that I had to overcome was slacking, when I was younger, I would slack, not realizing what was in store. Now I am definitely focused and get everything I need to done.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well for me, I’m definitely big on tropical trips so I would probably say Puerto Rico. I love Puerto Rico and everything about it, I would tell her we definitely have to go hiking, we definitely have to stop and get piña coladas that are in pineapples, we will definitely have to walk around old San Juan, I’m big on sightseeing and getting to see things around the world! So that’s what we would do.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It would definitely have to be my mother. She passed away last September, but one big thing that she told me that always stuck with me was to always focus on what makes me feel the best. So right now, I’ve been doing content creating and trying to get myself recognized to maybe model for someone and one of my downfalls at first was that people would criticize what I posted and I would take it down, but now with her advice, I feel like I’m in my prime of how confident I am in myself.
