We had the good fortune of connecting with Zankeethia Mitchell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zankeethia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my business was putting my passion into play. Though I make money from my business my clients orders are always gonna be full of love, passion, and soul because these are the things I put into my cooking.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My catering business is my baby it allows me to do something I love daily plus put my creativity to good use. I am just country girl who was surrounded by great cooks that made me get my tail in the kitchen and learn how to cook. I Have many accolades but my best one was being recognized by one of the biggest chefs in Houston somehow he come across my work and did a mention in his instagram story and business has been booming since all I know is like my Mama says “God moves mountains when it’s your time it’ll happen”. The challenges I faced with building my business were overcome with hard work dedication and persistence like building my client base and also finding consistency and booking clients. sometimes there will be gaps you have to push that creativity to fill them, and I do I stay in touch with my clients their like family and that’s what I do because my brand is built of love.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

The spot 4.Grace’s 5.Kamp Houston 6The Address Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Whew where do I start my great grandmother, my mom and my sister’s . They are there when there is a need an order to be delivered or helped filled. From my older sister being my certified on site event coordinator to my middle sister ”my silent partner” coming in and helping me fill orders. My mom is just my inspiration off the bat she’s always been a hard worker. She had two jobs when I was younger and she would have me with her while she worked as a cook at a corner store in my hometown. My Great Grandmother just gave me the drive and the belief I could do and be anything I want. Her being an Insurance Lady for 26 years and she would take me with her to pick her payments from her clients and then I’ll sit at her desk and watch her put her payments in at the office. She also did the Laundy for the local barber shop I also was with her when she delivered their Barber jackets back to them. I learn the meaning of hard work from her.
