We had the good fortune of connecting with ZaTavia Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi ZaTavia, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
Strangers are your biggest supporters! I started my business with the hopes that my closest friends and the family members I speak to on a daily basis would help my business thrive, would share my posts and be my biggest supporters…. Nope, definitely isn’t the case!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Growing up I always had dreams of becoming an OB/GYN, but as I grew older and became a Wife and Mom of 4 my dreams slowly shifted. I still received my degree in the healthcare field and work for one of the best Urgent Care Clinics in Texas, however my heart desired more— I wanted more! My husband and I wanted to build generational wealth to pass along to our children. We spoke on it for a couple years, tossed around ideas but could never come to a definitive agreement with the starting company.

We continued to bury ourselves in work and taking care of the kids and put our dreams of becoming business owners on the back burner for a bit. I finally told him, “well since we aren’t going to start a business, let travel the world and see new things.” Then it hit me! It was like a lightbulb went off and Taylor’d 2 You Travel Agency was born! If we’re going to travel, why not get paid for it?!

This journey has not been easy, but I pushed through with every bit of me. Many times I felt like giving up because I wasn’t meeting my goals, I wasn’t receiving as much support as I wanted, I watched my friends and family book trips with another agency, etc. Many nights I cried and often second guessed my purpose — I just wanted to give it all up but seeing my children faces everyday and knowing that all my hard work, blood, sweat and tears were for their future and I kept going! Giving up was not an option!

To all new business owners out there, know this:

You may not get many likes, shares or comments but they are watching! Someone see’s you! Some people just don’t want to support you or your business because it’s you and your business, and that’s okay! What one won’t do the next one will, never let that dim your light! Keep shining and the unexpected blessings will soon pour in!

I may not be the only Travel Agent out there but my pain, purpose, and perseverance makes me different!
