We asked some brilliant folks from the community to talk to us about how they think about risk and the role risk has played in their lives and careers.

I think of risks in a way as I would when thinking about walking by faith . You just have to go for it and be 100 percent confident in yourself , your brand , and most importantly God . How would you know your full potential if you don’t take the risk . I can truly say that it has opened some doors for me , just stepping out fully confident in myself and my work has put me in some rooms to be able to grow and work towards building my brand and becoming successful. I endured quite a bit in my childhood and upbringing, but those challenges shaped me into who I am today. I’ve always been a hard worker, prioritizing the long-term goal of creating a family and a home. Along the way, I’ve taken many gambles on myself—often stepping into rooms I wasn’t technically “qualified” to be in. Yet every time, God has shown me that He had a purpose for me in those spaces. I look at risk as part of the game — it’s either you move or you get stuck. Taking risks is what shaped me, for better and for worse. Some of the chances I took in the streets cost me years of my life, but even those lessons turned into fuel for the man I am today. Every big step forward I’ve made — from surviving prison, rebuilding myself, to chasing real opportunities — it all came from betting on myself when the outcome wasn’t guaranteed. Risk taught me that nothing great comes without putting something on the line, and now I use that same mindset in my career: calculated moves, faith in myself, and never being afraid to take that leap.
