We had the good fortune of connecting with Nneka and Francis Declan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nneka and Francis, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
So some things people don’t know is that we spend most of time cleaning and organizing our rentals. Another thing that most people do not know is that we drive a lot. We would say it takes good customer service to secure a booking, most of the time its not based off the type of rentals that we have but the type of personality we bring over a simple phone conversation.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What really sets us apart from other businesses in our industry is our customer service. We pride ourselves on talking with our clients and being very personable. We got to where we are right now as a business by always being a sponge. There is always things to learn about the industry. You’re not going to know everything. So the ability to adapt to a changing event industry, with the latest trends and rentals needed to have a successful event is what we are always studying and learning. Starting a business is never easy, a lot of research is being done to make sure we are upholding to our culture as a company. Some of the challenges are when we first started off and wondering how we can be competitive in the industry and learn how to attract potential clients. Along the way we have learned that there is never a good time to start a business so just jump right in and learn and evolve along the way. There will always be mistakes but how you handle adversity is what will set you apart from others. We would want people to know that we are very determined we love what we do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We love food and there is no particular place that we go to but we do like to try a lot of different types of food. So we would just take them to new restaurants. If we do go out we would not mind going to Washington Ave. There is a lot of things to do there.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to shoutout our family they helped encourage us in opening this company that was true to our heart at the time. They supported us and cheered us on when we came up with new ideas. I would like to shoutout my husband Francis for helping support my idea and now he takes on the responsibility of the back end activities that goes on with Party For Less and it has helped us become successful thus far.
