We had the good fortune of connecting with Tanisha R. Atkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tanisha R., can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
I remember being at a low place in my life because of a health challenge I was dealing with . After speaking with a close friend about it, she suggested that I read the book ” The Power of I Am” by Joel Osteen. At the time, I didn’t understand why she would suggest that book because it had nothing to do with what I was dealing with; or so I thought! That book not only lifted my spirits, it shifted my entire perspective about myself and my life. The Power of I am book reminded me of how powerful I really am and that I already had on the inside of me everything I needed to rise above that challenge.
Often times when we’re going through the fire we have a tendency to fall into victim mode or depression and throw ourselves the biggest pitty party ever. You have to choose to rise above what you’re dealing with because you posess the power to do so. I am powerful, resilient, and able to overcome anything set out to destroy me!
What should our readers know about your business?
I am a woman of many hats and many talents for which I use to help empower women be BRAVE BOLD RESILENT CONFIDENT FIERCE and COURAGEOUS women of influence! I operate under the name Tanisha R. Atkins Enterprises. I offer a variety of services which include branding personal and professional , social media management, one on one and group coaching, mentorship programs and a host of classes all to help women to dominate in their fields and build those multi-million dollar brands with confidence. I also have a women’s Empowerment Tshirt line that coincides with my mission to empower women.
It took me a minute to fully understand my assignment as my journey has led me to some familiar and unfamiliar places, but each step I have taken has taught me how to persevere and be resilient. It’s important to get clear about who you are and why you’re here. It will save you a lot of headache and wasted time.
My advice to other women is this. Don’t be scared to put yourself out there. Somebody is waiting on your gifts, talents , words of wisdom and your voice to help them move forward. Don’t keep them waiting!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m such an introvert. But when my family and friends come to town we definitely hit up the Turkey Leg Hut and the Theater district as I love the arts!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Many people like to say ” My mom is my rock”. Well add me to that list because when I tell you that my mom has held me down. God knows I would be so lost without her. She has literally walked with me thru the fire and back So grateful for her!
