Hi Mont’sha, how do you think about risk?
Personally, I feel the biggest risk you can take is missing out on a opportunity. It’s either take the risk or lose the chance that probably will change your life forever. A lot of people confuse risk with actual fear or think it’s such a bad idea but once you separate the two, you’ll actually feel at ease with your next possible risk.

One of the biggest risk that played a huge part in creating Milli Cleanse was going full-time for myself. To quit your stable 9-5 job and fully commit to a e-commerce business was a very tough decision for me. I honestly didn’t think that it would result the way it did because it was one of those situations where it will either make or break you. As a entrepreneur, you are in full control of what your business preforms like—you don’t know when your next order is coming & you don’t have a scheduled payday. Risks are just a test to see if your ready for what awaits you or if your settled with where you are currently but never confuse a good risk with a bad one—you’ll know the difference.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Milli Cleanse is more than your typical skincare brand. We are acne defeaters & a daily reminder that your purity is EVERYTHING. Growing up, my skin never agreed with me. I use to put a bandaid on to cover up the massive pimples I had & I suffered severely with acne scarring & hyperpigmentation. I tried almost every product that was out at the time to clear my skin, everything was either a temporary fix or making it worse. That’s when I created Milli Cleanse.

I started off local, everything was going good at the beginning but I wanted to reach a larger audience and I knew the key to reach larger audiences is to go e-commerce. That’s when I started second guessing myself, which was one of the challenges I overcame. I didn’t think that I could reach people out of state enough to make this a full-time thing but after building the courage to try it, I received 600 orders my first week of having a e-commerce business. Milli Cleanse kept expanding day by day & that’s when I reached 100,000 total sale.

I learned so many lessons during my journey but here’s a few that I feel are most beneficial for upcoming entrepreneurs:

1. Don’t dwell on support from your peers, your biggest supporters will be people you never met.

2. Don’t let your liabilities interfere with your assets. Cancel out any unnecessary expenses and use your money to invest into yourself.

3. Remember, up and downs are normal. There will be times where you will second guess your craft but keep in mind that it’s all apart of becoming a better version of yourself. Feed your mind with nothing but positivity.

4. Develop habits that support the action needed to achieve your goal.

5. Never forget your worths for anything or anybody.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Buffalo, NY so my go-tos include food, shopping, or quality time.

Buffalo is a pretty small town that’s expanding surely but slowly. Our go-to spots can really depend on what place is being the most talked about. We look forward to seeing new, fun, & eventful places added into our community.

For food, we would head over to Francos Pizza & get the best pizza ever! Also, Buffalo is known to have great wings as well.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my boyfriend, Jarrett Dinkins. I don’t know where to start honestly. He is someone who just gives the most purest, motivational, & heartwarming advice ever. Jarrett is someone who sees your potential and will remind you on your worst days that it’s there and never left. He believed in me and my craft when I never even believed in myself & stood by my side through it all without any complaints or second guesses.

The amount of support and unconditional love he gives, I don’t think there’s anyway I can repay him & words can never describe how much I appreciate him.
