We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronica and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Veronica, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset with ideas for several different businesses. I decided to start my own business as a lash technician after some encouragement from a friend. Once I became certified and started to do a little research I became passionate about educating women on maintaining the health of their natural lashes. I found that so many women were not being equipped with the knowledge of the lash extension process, lash cycles, etc.
In 2018 I started educating beginner lash techs because I saw a major need for servicing clients the right way.
As my brand expands my mission is to continue to educate women by providing quality service as well as producing quality products with affordable options to look and feel beautiful .

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Lash En’Vee is a beauty brand that provides lash application services, products and lash education. Before I started my business I realized that a massive number of women were getting their lashes done but they were not being educated on the basics of proper care and maintenance. After committing to starting my business , I made a promise to educate and inform every individual that I serviced. I’m very proud of expanding my brand with quality products that offer my clients options for those individuals that don’t want to get lash extensions or those times they want to take a break from lash extensions.

Some of the most challenging parts of my journey was being forced to close my business during COVID, relocating to Houston and also having to rebuild a client base from scratch. When I first arrived to Houston ,I had made a decision to discontinue lash application services and I was focused on building my brand online with products and lash trainings. I felt it would be too challenging for me to start over with new clients in a new place where I hardly knew anyone. After a little over a year I started networking, doing pop up shops and I felt more confident to tackle this fresh start of doing something I truly love.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Houston is definitely a hot spot and one of the things I love about the city is there’s always something to do. Some of my favorite places to eat includes Landry’s Seafood you can never go wrong with their Happy Hour which has weekend hours as well. The Rouxpour is a definite yes for their variety of oysters and Kiss is good for their food and good music vibes. For live music Phil & Derek’s is a fun time and the Butterfly Museum is a good attraction to visit.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My biggest shout out goes to God, who has made all things possible. I would like to give a shoutout to my long time friend Kenisha because if it wasn’t for her I would have never started a business as a lash tech. She inspired me to go hard ,to build a brand and make it my own. I would also like to give a shout-out to my son, Cameron because he was just 8 years old when I started this business , he definitely encouraged me in so many ways to keep pushing even on the days when I wanted to give up. I’m also reminded of my Dad when it comes to my business because it was him who helped me come up with the design for my first lash space and although he is no longer with me physically….I know he’s with me in spirit.
