We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Haden and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, how does your business help the community or world
From the start of our art business, I had one thing in mind, to bring creativity to the community. I wanted to create a program that was educational but affordable for all families in the community. By doing so, we give all children the opportunity to grow in their creativity through art, as well as develop a healthy outlet to express themselves. Even with the present conditions of our community due to Covid-19, many businesses are limited on what they can do. In addition, families are limited on what activities they can participate in. Our business has been flexible enough to create virtual art classes where students and families can still participate in art and develop their creativity. This opportunity not only helps our business, but also helps families focus on more positive outlets like art rather than the impact of the pandemic. Our business likes the fact that we can have a positive impact in the community, especially now.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Our business model is structured around kids mobile paint parties and providing affordable art educational classes in the community. Our art is geared towards children of all ages. Our mobile paint parties focuses on “having fun with paint.” However, our art educational classes focuses on further mediums such as acrylic paint, pencil drawings, and more. We are super excited, because despite the impact of the pandemic, we were give the honor of “2020 Art Educator Award” from Kids out and about. This is a huge achievement for us. I think presently the most challenging obstacle we have had to face is the pandemic. We have had to make several adjustments to our business model. Fortunately, we have had the opportunity to continue our art classes virtually giving our families the chance to still implement their creativity. Although our business is not back running 100% yet, we still continue to maintain some kind of structure for our clients. And its a lesson that our team has has to learn in ways to be creative and implement technology more effectively for our business. Overall, despite everything, our business has the chance to still go strong. Many business have gone out of business due to the pandemic. Our business continues to be blessed despite the circumstances. Just more of a reason for families to know that we will not give up. And we will keep going strong.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being a long time art educator myself, Houston is one of the top cities in the nation known for its opportunities in art. I would definitely recommend Houston art museums such as the “Museum of Fine Arts Houston” or “The Menil Collection.” After a day at the museum, a nice picnic at “Discover Green” is another great spot that has some great views.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shout out to my handsome husband Jason who has always supported me in my business endeavors. A successful entrepreneur himself, I have learned so much from him and love him dearly. I also dedicate this shout out to my A team of employees that continues to give 100% to the business. I could not have the success of the business with a great support team who is talented, professional, and always awesome. Another shout out is to my family for their love and encouragement. And most importantly, shout out to the loving God I serve for giving me the strength to never give up and to just have faith.
