We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrian Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adrian, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As someone who has faced many hardships, including imprisonment, I wanted to show the world that you can do what you put your mind to. Our hardships and life experiences should not limit what we can achieve. When I thought about what I wanted to do, I thought about making memories for people. Making memories and memorable moments is something that I truly cherish. The best way to do that was to have an event center that gives people opportunities to create endless memories. This is what birthed H-Town Event Center.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
H-Town Event Center is an event facility where anyone can host various events. We can accommodate birthday parties, anniversary parties, weddings, quinceaneras, expos, meetings, conferences, etc. We also have several individuals who host their podcasts within our facility. Our facility is a 3100 sq. ft. building with rose gold epoxy floors, a newly installed wood bar, couches, tables, chairs, 4 flat-screen televisions, and a lighting and sound system. We offer several services including, DJ services, full decor and videography.

I am very proud that we have hosted various successful events that accommodate the needs of various parties. Our goal is to create the best experience for our guests and that is what we strive to do. After facing many hardships it took a lot of work and dedication to make this business happen. After facing some failures I had to build a team around me that could help me get my business up and running. I am very happy to have the support team that I have. I took a chance on this business, and because of the support I have I was able to make it happen. There is still much work to be done, however, I am proud of what we have done so far.

The advice that I can give to individuals starting a business, is to have a plan, build a team of people around you who have different contributing strengths, and execute the plan. When you face challenges, do not give up. Go back to the drawing board and find something else that works.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would first take my friend to an early brunch at the Breakfast Klub. We would then go do some sightseeing downtown. For the night event, I would definitely have to host a party at H-Town Event Center. with private catering, beautiful decor, one of the best DJs and Houston to give a night they would remember.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my family, especially my mother, Debbie Dillard, my brother Jermarian Green, girlfriend, LaNisha Patterson, and daughter, Alaysia Teal, who always support me. Much of the success of my business that I have had so far stems from their support, love, and inspiration. I would also like to thank other family and friends who have supported me in my business endeavors as well.
