We had the good fortune of connecting with Marc Davenport and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marc, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
One of the core principals of my personal business philosophy is to intentionally surround myself with the very best and brightest people I know. Men and women who possess great character, ethics, and ability. People striving to become the absolute very best they can be and who are secure enough to acknowledge and celebrate the success of others.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The Breakfast Klub is my go-to spot for brunch when friends and family come to town. As an avid sports fan depending on the time of the year catching a Texans, Astros, or Rockets game is a must. Texas also has some of the best steak houses in America so dinner at Steak 48 or Perry’s Steak House is a must. B’s Wine Bar, the Woodlands Waterway, the Museum district, and a secluded beach near Galveston round out the list.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This is an easy one, Najiyyah Brooks the “Brand Architect,” CEO of Brooks Media Group LLC, who is my significant other and business partner. We constantly push each other to operate in excellence at all times and to become the absolute best versions of ourselves. I also want to give a shout out to my clients in the Straight To The Top (STTT) community! I am coaching a team of very smart business owners who are scaling their businesses responsibly and profitably. The purpose of the STTT is to connect aspiring and existing business owners with a community of men and women with shared interests.
