We had the good fortune of connecting with Jill Robin Payne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jill Robin, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Imagine finally achieving your dreams, whether it’s building your own business, becoming a more confident parent, or simply feeling happier and more fulfilled. As a psychotherapist, I help people do just that, using a unique approach that I developed and trademarked called Bempathy®. This innovative communicative technique combines lighthearted banter with genuine empathy. We work together to uncover their deepest desires, navigate life’s challenges, and equip them with the tools to reach their full potential. Together we create a more compassionate and empowered world, one client at a time.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Life threw me some curveballs. Family moves, career confusion, a divorce – you name it, I experienced it. It took time, but eventually, I realized my struggles could become my strength – a stepping stone to help others avoid similar paths. Growing up in a family that believed in education, with a doctor father, instilled in me a strong work ethic. Yet, I also craved something more – a deeper connection with others. After a period of searching, I discovered psychology as the perfect fit. It wasn’t just a career; it resonated with my core desire to understand people and witness their transformation.
That’s how Bempathy® – my unique communication technique – was born. It’s more than therapy; it’s a collaborative journey toward self-discovery, replacing judgment with empathy and banter. It’s a philosophy—a way of life centered on nurturing dreams and fostering genuine connections.
Think of it this way: we all have a unique gift. Mine lies in helping you unlock yours and achieve your dreams. When you finally see that mountaintop and plant your flag, my heart sings. It’s not just about fulfilling my ego; it’s a testament to the powerful partnership we build together.
Yes, life is work, but it’s work worth doing, especially when we build bridges, not burn them. Through Bempathy®, you’ll sift through challenges, turning them into fuel for a brighter future. Remember, believing in yourself is just half the battle. The other half? Believing in others and collaborating to create a ripple effect of positive change.
We can’t walk this journey alone. Let’s climb those mountains together, not just for ourselves, but to inspire and empower others to do the same.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Vibrant, captivating individuals abound in every corner. One of my favorite haunts is the Galvez in Galveston, where vintage bicycles await for leisurely rides. The tranquil waters and the laid-back atmosphere exude a charming beach vibe. Seafood aficionados like myself are delighted by the array of dishes served in the waterfront restaurants, enhancing the culinary experience with picturesque views.

Before indulging in my beach retreat, I always prioritize understanding my companion’s interests. It’s a fundamental aspect of my Bempathy® philosophy, encapsulated by the ‘6 C’s’, where mutual enjoyment is paramount. Ideally, our interests align, and the beach becomes our shared destination for endless fun and relaxation.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Growing up, I witnessed my parents’ dedication to social work firsthand. They instilled in me a deep desire to help others, leading me to volunteer at hospitals, nursing homes, and with veterans. This passion led me to pursue psychology, where I discovered a fascination with understanding human behavior. My husband serves as my rock, standing by me through the ups and downs of bringing my concept, Bempathy®, into the world. When I face burnout during this process, he helps me create a self-care routine, demonstrating his unwavering support. Both my family and my husband have shaped me into a compassionate, resilient individual who thrives on building genuine connections – qualities I believe are crucial for success in this role, particularly when working with clients and collaborating with colleagues.
