We had the good fortune of connecting with Nandi Brantley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nandi, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Consistency! Being consistent for 9-10 years has brought me much success. Being an entrepreneur and working for myself Can get really hard at times, especially in slow seasons but in slow seasons, it forces you to become more creative. Without being consistent, you wouldn’t have that drive or that motivation to keep going and keep pushing even when times get hard so being consistent has been the main factor of my success throughout these years of being an entrepreneur because if I would’ve stopped a long time ago, I wouldn’t be where I am today!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What I feel sets me apart from others is my aesthetic, my aura, the way I go about things, the way I live my life, the way I dress myself and I feel like I attract a lot of people like me in that way! I’m most proud of the growth over the past years and how I handle a lot of situations and just simply how I maneuver in life. It has brought me so much peace. I got where I am today simply by being consistent like I stated before, and staying focus on the bigger picture and not the current situation because it might not always be the best. I can’t say it has been easy because it was times that I wanted to give up or even tried to give up but realizing that this is how I eat, giving up wasn’t an option! On this journey, I’ve learned to always stay true to yourself love who you are embrace who you are and remain authentic, because I realize that people come to me because of who I am! I just want everyone to know that I’ve worked really hard on building a brand and when I say building a brand, I mean me building myself up to become the person that I want to put out there to the world because I am literally my own billboard and what I put out to the world is what you gone get. Ain’t no scam no gimmicks this is 100% me I do hair like I would want my hair to be done! I take my time with every client to make sure that everything is done right it’s no shortcuts in this! I am my brand!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
first, we are going to start off by going to brunch. That’s how we gone start off our day with some food and some drinks. I like to be downtown Chicago and I’m pretty sure everybody else that come to Chicago would rather be downtown so that’s where we will be going! Chicago has the best food to me out of everywhere that I’ve been. It’s sooo many options to eat and drink from. After food and drinks, we can go shopping on Michigan! That’s really a whole day right there. But I’m a lounge type of girl, a bar type of girl, I love love love chill vibes! I’m not really into the clubs because I be up all day so by the time the night come I be tired! But my favorite spot to go and chill is topgolf that’s a nice vibe at night in the summer time. We can go to the lake and chill! The beach is really nice! It’s sooo many options in Chicago! It’ll be some to do everyday!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a huge shout out to myself and my clients. The ones that come back all the time, the ones that believe in me, the ones that pushed me to do styles that I am not comfortable with but turn out to be fire! The ones that referred me to others the ones that speak highly of me when I’m not in a room those are the ones I want to give a shout out to! I just also want to give myself a big shout out because I’ve been the one that pushed me to keep going. I’ve had times I’ve had to pull myself out of a hole that I put myself in. I’ve had to motivate myself to get up. I had to look back and see how far I came & to just keep going! I don’t think I congratulate myself enough and now that I’m sitting here thinking and writing this I am really getting emotional because I don’t give myself enough credit for the last 10 years of my life.
