Where are you from and how did your background and upbringing impact who you are today?


Through our work we have had the good fortune of seeing firsthand how success comes in every shape, size, color, faith, and orientation. More importantly we’ve learned that success is often the result of people embracing their unique backgrounds and so we’ve asked the community to tell us about their background and how it has impacted where they are today.

As a child, I had a difficult upbringing, which made me question everything about my existence. in the search of self-identity and belonging, I discover Martial Arts. At 14, I started training in Taekwondo in earnest. Fitness and exercise became my greatest passions in life. It thought me patience, empathy, endurance, positive attitude and self-control. I dealt with my childhood trauma and later life challenges by breaking a sweat and working out my body, and before I’m halfway through, I feel a huge sense of accomplishment, calmness and JOY. Honestly, I’m just a kid who wants to help the world out with my best effort, I’m an artist from the UK who makes music, youtube videos, etcetera, for the soul purposes being, entertainment for others, if someone’s had a bad day I wanna be the guy who can make them laugh, help them zone out with music, a person to communicate and relate too via these products I create for the people of this world. I’m from Jackson, MS—West Jackson, to be exact. Known as the “City with Soul,” Jackson shaped me through its culture, community, and my family’s deep creative and entrepreneurial legacy. I grew up surrounded by music, watching my mother and aunts rehearse and sing throughout my childhood. Raised by my aunt and uncle, who are deeply ministry-minded and service-oriented, I learned the value of hard work and serving others early on. Read more>>

I’m Abdul Sadiq and I was Born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Raised in Houston Tx under a cultured African American family, I always had the insight of wanting to make an impact for those around me. Especially for the fact that I lost my mother at a young age of 12 years old, which then lead me to feeling more motivated to wanting to do more in Fitness to help people’s lives. There’s so much that I Believe each person can do in their life but it first starts with taking care of their body. And I believe once you unlock that for yourself there’s so much more in store.
