We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I started in the work field in 1992 as an excited teenager ready to meet people and earn money. I advanced from place to place and found myself starting in the real estate industry as an engaged woman in 1997. For the next 19 years I learned the ways of the title insurance industry working my way around and up through the ranks as far as I wanted to go. During these years I had 2 children. In 2017 I moved on to the mortgage lending industry for the next 4 years to expand my knowledge of the real estate world. My last time spent in the corporate world was working for a friend who owned his own real estate company. That is where I discovered a role as a Transaction Coordinator in 2021. Our oldest child would be graduating in 2022 and our youngest would be in intermediate school. I found myself longing to work for myself, wanting to work at my own pace, set my own schedule, be involved in our last kids schooling affairs as much as I could; and be free to volunteer at my church in a timeframe of my own choosing. This new balance of life began for me in 2022, and I am happier now than ever before. I’m no longer tied down to stress, chasing the dollar and juggling all aspects of life frantically.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As a Transaction Coordinator my role is to make a Real Estate agent’s work-life run a little smoother. They can depend on me to know their contract is moving forward and their clients’ best interests are being taken care of. Processes I have knowledge of are shared with others and explained so that they understand exactly what is going on, and what is coming up next. I take pride in my work by coordinating, communicating and facilitating a successful closing as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
What sets me apart from other Transaction Coordinators is my 24 years’ experience in the real estate industry in the various jobs I’ve had. All my experience has been in this great state of Texas!
I’ve gotten to where I am today due to the economy. Having worked in the corporate world I have faced being laid off a few times. I always knew the Lord had something else waiting for me and I looked forward to what it was and what I would learn and the people I would meet and get to help ultimately achieve the American dream, Home Ownership! It was not easy. There was lots of stress involved. Growing as a person and maturing as an adult have come with time.
I want the world to know that with the right support system, years of hard work, determination, pride in one’s self, abilities and God-given talent anything can be achieved with Gods help.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would like to take them to the beach in Galveston to work on our tan, feel the wind on our faces, watch the seagulls flying all around, listen to the waves and watch the people all around. We would shop on the Strand and visit a wonderful shop named Murdock’s on the Seawall. We would lounge around the pool in the evenings at the Moody Gardens Hotel and have room service. We would eat at The Spot and have a Volcano at Rainforest Cafe. In my hometown of Conroe, we would likely go see a movie, shop at The Woodlands Mall and Market Street, then have a bite to eat at one of the many options in The Woodlands.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My spouse of 26 years, Jason, deserves a lot of credit. He has been there for me through all the stresses of work and supported me whole-heartedly.
The ladies I first worked with in the title industry, Ann Morris, June Armbruster, the late Peggy Randolph, Gwen Pryor, Rui Cain and Stacey Kohler. They set the foundation for my understanding and learning the industry the correct way.
My mother-in-law, Evelyn Rodriguez. For many years she was a top-notch real estate agent who suggested this career move for me and has always believed in and supported me.
My parents, Roy and Gloria Levee, for always supporting me, loving me, praying for me as I grew in life as a wife, mom and career-driven woman. They were always examples of people for me to look up to.
I have numerous real estate agents who believe in me and have stuck with me since the beginning of my career. I want to give a special shout out to Vera Mitrofanova with VAM Real Estate Solutions. She was my first real estate agent who jumped on board with me as a client when I started my business. I originally met her when I was in the mortgage lending industry. We became fast friends. My next immediate agent clients were Billy & Kacy Gilley, The Gilley Team with Keller Williams Realty The Woodlands and Magnolia. They’re a special God-sent couple to me by way of my life-long friend Cory Guisler.
The Real Estate Agents that worked with me as their Transaction Coordinator from day 1 when I was still in the corporate world are John & Michelle Hoover, Mary Rittierodt and Jennifer Johnson. They have remained loyal to me, and I owe part of my success to each one of them!
