Meet Taylor Yearby

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Taylor Yearby again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Taylor , we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
Hello, my name is Taylor. I am a chef, and I go by Chef Taylor. What sets me apart from everyone else is that I bring soul to the recipe. I have been in the industry since 2015. I have worked at numerous four- to five-star hotels and restaurants. I specialize in global cuisine and enjoy the challenge of creating new dishes. I am very passionate about food and truly love what I do. I enjoy complementing people’s gatherings with my creative plates and delicious food.

Alright, so our main goal today is to give our audience an update on what you have been up to since our last conversation. We’d love to hear how things are going and what you are most looking forward to or excited about these days.
Since the last time we spoke, I have been on a roller coaster. In 2021, I had multiple catering events. I also had some clients for meal preps, and I was a personal chef for a family in Houston. In 2022–2023, I had to take a pause because I lost my mother to breast cancer. Since then, I’ve been a Sous Chef at a restaurant in Houston Heights, and I have rebranded myself from Sauce Kitchen to reflect the new me.

We have now arrived at one of our favorite parts of the interview – the lightning round. We’ll ask you a few quick questions to give us all some fun insights about you.

I am most excited about the new opportunities to come. I will be networking a lot more, building meaningful connections with others in the industry, and expanding my reach. My goal is to bring something fresh and innovative—something that not only tells a story but also reflects my life, my journey through food, and my cultural roots. Through my work, I want to inspire people, introduce them to new flavors, and create experiences that bring communities together. This new chapter is all about growth, creativity, and pushing boundaries, and I am ready to embrace every challenge that comes my way.
