We had the good fortune of connecting with Abby Share and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Abby, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks has played a huge role in my life and career! I think about risk as an opportunity to experience growth, to learn, or both. Without risks, I would not be anywhere near where I am today in business or in life. It is what has catapulted me into owning my businesses, it drives our big family decisions, and so much more. Risks, big and small, are part of daily life and without them, life would be pretty stagnant!

What should our readers know about your business?
EquiFitness LLC & Empower Wellness Collective LLC are both businesses founded on the principles of helping living beings move and feel their best.

I founded EquiFitness in 2022 with the goal of bringing optimum mobility and strength to both horse and rider. This goal was formed during an alternative career path class at Texas Woman’s University in our Doctor of Physical Therapy program. I grew up with horses and I have always loved them. I rode from the time I was a kid until now – competing in a variety of disciplines, but especially in high school and college rodeo in Wyoming. I was able to utilize my Doctorate in Physical Therapy to provide physical therapy and rider fitness sessions to improve rider experience in and out of the saddle. I also became both a Certified Equine Massage Therapist and Certified Equine Rehabilitation Therapist as a way to provide mobility support along with strength and conditioning for the performance horse.

Empower Wellness Collective was founded in 2024 with the vision of providing mindful mobility through physical therapy, LYT Yoga, and holistic fitness to clients of all backgrounds, but focusing on those initiating their wellness journeys, equestrians, active individuals, military, and first responders. The goal of this business is to view each person as a whole living being and empower them with the tools and resources to attain optimal wellness. We not only provide our services mentioned, but we also connect clients with other holistic minded providers to ensure they have access to create their all encompassing team.

The thing that I’m most proud about for both of these businesses is that I feel I have successfully created spaces that are full of genuine and authentic interactions, relationships, and experiences. I’m excited that this clear and aligned approach for both businesses has not only allowed me to grow a great foundation for each, but it has created an opportunity for such exponential growth and ability to share the empowerment of healing and wellness to so many.

In regard to ease of business ownership, I don’t know that I would say it was easy, but I will say that even in the difficult moments it was totally worth it. Approaching a business as someone with lots of ideas and passions can cause some turbulence when trying to seek a niche or keep focus on a main goal and not become side tracked. I would say this has been my biggest challenge. I love what I do and get very excited about ideas and opportunities that either arise or that I create. So, channeling down and making sure I focus on one or two projects at a time has been incredibly enlightening and quite the game changer.

Another big lesson is to lean on your resources! My family, friends, and peers have been huge players in my businesses as my “Board of Directors,” my sounding boards, and my biggest cheerleaders in general.

My brands and my story are derived from experience. I use every roller coaster high and every pain and joy to connect with clients and their horses in their own journeys. We all have our roads to travel in life and I truly believe that we are guided down certain paths to be able to help others through our experiences.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, I live in Bellville, Texas not far from Brenham and Round Top. We would totally stay local and visit the best coffee shops around! The Gathery in Bellville is one of my favorite stops for coffee along with breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We could grab drinks at Huff Brewery in Bellville and an incredible dinner at 22 North Holland. My favorite Brenham spots would definitely be Yumm! for some great pizza and wraps, and we would absolutely need to go tour Blue Bell and grab our ice cream. And of course, we would hit up Round Top for shopping and food/coffee trucks if it’s Antiques Week. For a more relaxing vibe, we would go to The Hive in Bellville to experience an amazing holistic and peaceful atmosphere (where I provide services as well!). We would round the weekend out with a Sunday Brunch at Las Americas in Brenham. Their food is amazing and they have the tastiest mimosa flights!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout to my family. My husband for his unwavering support of all of my dreams, my educational pursuits, and opening my businesses, and for being the most incredible partner in this life. My kids for being absolutely amazing as we navigate family life and business ownership! My parents for always sharing how proud they are of me and for supporting me through all my education and life endeavors. My sister for all the phone calls and texts and conversations that have helped me grow through and love life!
