We had the good fortune of connecting with Anjali Singh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anjali, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is authenticity. I’m not afraid to show up as my full self on social media — even in a space that can often feel negative or competitive. While it’s easy to fall into comparison, I stay focused on creating content that’s genuine, intentional, and rooted in connection. I don’t just post to perform — I create because I want people to feel something. Whether it’s inspiration, joy, cultural pride, or simply the energy of movement, my goal is to connect with others through everything I share. I put my heart and soul into every video, every performance, and every concept — and I believe that’s what makes my work resonate.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is rooted in cultural fusion, storytelling, and self-expression. I’m a dancer, choreographer, and content creator who blends styles like Bollywood, Soca, Chutney, Dancehall and more to bring movement to life in a way that feels both powerful and deeply personal. What sets me apart is my ability to express a wide range of styles while still staying true to my unique voice as a performer and creator. I also teach dance classes, and I love creating a safe space for my students to not only learn choreography but to express themselves and feel brave enough to grow.

I’m most proud of the strength it took to keep going despite fear and self-doubt. To get to where I am now, I had to push past the voice that told me I wasn’t good enough, or that I was too much. I stepped into the unknown again and again because deep down I knew I had something to offer — and that I could do anything I truly committed to.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that you won’t grow if you don’t take risks. Whether or not people engage with what you create, you have to remember why you started. Not everyone will understand your journey, and not everyone is meant to. I pushed myself to grow by putting myself in uncomfortable positions, and every challenge helped me get a little closer to who I am today.

The turning point came when I realized that I don’t have to fit a mold. I’m proud of the strength it took to choose growth over comfort, and how I never let fear stop me from doing what I love. I’ve learned that people will always have something to say – and at first, they really affected me. But eventually, I understood that those comments were projections. They had nothing to do with me. Now I don’t engage — I stay focused, rooted in my why.

What I want the world to know about my story is that it’s okay if the path isn’t perfect. Sometimes things fall apart just so they can come together more powerfully than before. If you have a dream, protect it, nurture it, and trust that it’s yours for a reason. Keep going even when it’s hard — especially when it’s hard.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting Toronto, I’d start with a walk by the Harbourfront, maybe catch the sunset at Sugar Beach, and grab dinner at one of the patios overlooking the water. I’d take them to the Distillery District to explore the shops and art, and we’d definitely visit Casa Loma for something a bit more magical and historic. I’d keep things simple — good food, pretty views, and a chance to just slow down and enjoy the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to dedicate my shoutout to the people who support me online — my followers and the growing community that believes in my work. It means so much to be seen and rooted for by people who don’t even know me personally but still show up with nothing but encouragement and love. Their support has kept me going on the hard days and inspired me to keep creating. I also want to give credit to the version of myself who kept believing even when no one was watching — she’s the reason I’m still here.
