We had the good fortune of connecting with Laura Poshard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Laura, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business is deeply personal—it’s about building something lasting for my children, a legacy that shows them strength, purpose, and possibility through the lens of a woman leader. I want to create a space where all women, no matter their age, body type, or stage in life, feel seen, celebrated, and empowered through clothing they genuinely love. It’s not just about fashion; it’s about freedom, expression, and belonging. This journey is my way of rewriting the rules—offering choices that honor every woman’s story while planting seeds of resilience and pride for the next generation.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Running this business has been a true reflection of my spirit—bold, colorful, and deeply committed to helping women embrace their personal style at every stage of life. We offer fashion-forward options designed to inspire confidence and creativity, with pieces that speak to individuality rather than conformity. My love of vibrant hues and fearless expression lives in every collection, yet I also honor the fact that style is a personal journey, unique to each woman. With my background in the corporate world and an entrepreneurial heart that’s always been beating strong, I’ve approached this venture with both strategic insight and emotional intention. It hasn’t been easy—unexpected challenges have tested us—but the unwavering support from our customers and the love from my family have carried us through. One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that business, like life, has its seasons. But with passion as your compass and love for what you do in your soul, you find a way to keep growing.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If a best friend were visiting, we’d kick things off with a delicious stop at Hughes Landing—it’s got such a fun, walkable vibe and no shortage of incredible eats. We’d dive into something casual at The Stand or maybe go a little upscale at Escalante’s or Truluck’s, depending on the mood. After indulging, I’d insist on a trip to 7 Brew for one of my favorite coffee drinks—because no adventure should happen without caffeine. And naturally, we’d top it all off with a visit to Addy & Ry for a little retail therapy and in-house permanent jewelry.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My success wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support system that surrounds me. My husband Michael has been my anchor, offering unwavering encouragement every step of the way. Addison and Ryan, my beautiful children, are the heartbeat of my purpose and the reason I strive to build something lasting. My mom has poured her creativity and love into the business, crafting one-of-a-kind pieces that bring soul to our store. My dad, with his relentless work ethic and example, has shaped the grit and determination I carry every day. And the rest of my family—my biggest cheerleaders—have lifted me up with belief, love, and relentless support. We’re not just family-owned, we’re family-powered.
