We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Gentry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachel, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success has been consistency, fueled by my passion for music and my work in law and consulting. As a DJ, that consistency means practicing regularly, staying creative with my mixes, keeping an ear out for new sounds, and approaching the craft as a student. As an attorney and entrepreneur, it shows up in how I build relationships, stay disciplined in my work, and continue learning to better serve the people and organizations I work with. At the heart of both careers is my love for growth and my drive to keep pushing forward. I consider myself a hustler, which to me means showing up every day, building on what I know, and never losing the passion that started it all.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My professional journey has been about finding balance between structure and creativity. On one side, I am the Founder of Gentry Elite Consulting, LLC, where I provide strategic legal and advisory support across business, law, politics, and sports. I’m proud that my firm sets itself apart by combining my background as an attorney with a focus on building strong relationships and helping others reach their goals through precise, tailored solutions.
On the other side, I’ve been pursuing my passion for music as a DJ. That path has taught me just as much about consistency, creativity, and connecting with people in a meaningful way. Both careers challenge me to keep learning, stay disciplined, and push myself beyond comfort zones.
It hasn’t always been easy balancing two demanding paths, but I’ve leaned on resilience, hard work, and the lessons I was raised with about going after what you love. What excites me most is that my story shows you don’t have to limit yourself to one lane. You can build a business, embrace your creative passions, and thrive in both worlds.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting Houston, I would start by taking them to POST Houston. The food court has so many great options that really show off the city’s flavor, and the rooftop has one of the best views of downtown. From there, I’d definitely take them out to either Midtown or Montrose because the drinks, atmosphere, and energy in those areas are always on point. I’d also make sure to check the rotation of DJ events happening that week so we could catch a set or two. To me, that’s the best way to experience Houston, good food, great views, a fun nightlife, and, of course, music

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely have to give credit to my family and close friends for their constant support. They’ve believed in me whether I was pursuing law, starting my own consulting firm, or following my passion for music and becoming a DJ. My parents in particular, they always taught me that hard work pays off and that whatever I do in life should be something I’m truly passionate about. They reminded me to stay resilient and to be a go-getter, lessons I carry with me every day. They also exposed me to so much, from music and education to traveling and new experiences. That foundation really shaped my passions and drive.
