Meet Helen Morris | CEO & Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Helen Morris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Helen, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Firstly, I almost siked myself out of starting my business because it’s so many other Photography Companies especially in the City of Houston, however I prayed about it and while I had been doing photography as a hobby in church with my grandmother for years, the hobby turned into a full passion. I thought to myself, why not turn that passion into my profession. I started and never looked back.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is, I put my entire self into my work. I pray before sessions, I get to know my clients through conversation and movements, not all people who come to take a photo shoot do it knowing when to pose, how to move, I encourage them to be themselves while making sure we get the perfect shot in their comfort zone.
Was it easy? No! Every session is a journey, there are more photographers daily showing up however you learn, there are clients ORDAINED just for you.
What do I want the world to know about my brand? I use your vision, to make forever memories.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The water wall is always a go too. Not just for photos but just to relax and breathe. A cute picnic and wonderful scenery.
I recently just went to a place called Holy Moly and it’s a put put golf venue and it was so much fun, most go there.
Seafood!!! Always a go too! Crafty crab hits every time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Wow! To the one who pushed me to start without even knowing it, my Grandmother, Helen Pradia.
I would record her messages and singing in churches and take photos of her while ministering and it grew my passion to where making people smile became my priority.
