We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Castilleja and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
Success is love, it’s family, it’s how much you laugh.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love to create stuff that gets people going. We’re only human. I read a quote once that said, “Art should punch you in the face.” That’s always in the back of my head. I’m always excited for the next piece or project, it’ll will never end until I’m dead and gone. The process is simple in my mind. There are no rules in this game, you’re going to be judged no matter what you say or do so stop thinking and get it done. We all deserve to have whatever we want in this life. There is no secret, it’s all hours and hours of work. You become very dangerous when you really believe in yourself.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a sucker for good food and wine. There’s a spot in my hometown called The Huisache Grill, downtown New Braunfels Tx. That’s the spot, a bottle of wine and dinner. Then go find some live music playing somewhere. We have some incredible musicians here.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My sister Alli. Covid stole her from our family Dec 2020. This is for her.
