We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Coleman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Courtney, what do you attribute your success to?
Jesus is the most important factor. My relationship with Him changed everything. He marked my life! I truly gave my life to Him and said YES. Whatever He asks I will say yes. I asked Him to break my heart for what breaks HIs and the rest is history!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My understanding of obedience is better than sacrifice has helped me tremendously. It is so important to learn that whatever God asks of you just do it. It may be giving up everything and move to Africa or it may look like starting something right in your area. I have been asked by God to do both. It doesn’t always look like going to a 3rd world country and giving up stuff. The point is obedience. Its been a long hard road of learning to let go and let God. It has been filled with heartache and joy and everything in between. God has used trials and tribulations to prepare me for such a time as this. This ministry would not be what it is today if it started sooner. Their was a journey of learning, stretching, and growing that I had to go on first. And God will continue to take me on a journey as He molds me into who He wants me to be.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to our Missions Base, to the streets of Houston to love on people, to Surfside Beach for some surf, Red Oak Cafe for the best breakfast, Antone’s 1962 Famous Po Boys for lunch, Samurai Japanese Steak and Sushi for dinner, and Angleton Nutrition for uplifting message on some yummy drinks!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This ministry couldn’t have happened without my husband Kyle Coleman. We did this together. We gave our yes to Jesus and Jesus did it all. Its been an amazing adventure hand in hand TOGETHER! My mom Kay Brown has made a huge impact on my life. She taught me to have big God dreams and go for them. She taught me to go to Jesus about everything and truly listen to Him. Both my parents Danny and Kay Brown have been so supportive and encouraging and always point me to Jesus.

My high school cheerleading coach Vicki Howell. She helped bring both my mom and me closer to Jesus. She believed in me and spoke life. It wasn’t just about cheering it was about doing it for the Lord and giving your all.
Staffing for CCA Christian Cheerleaders of America helped me to begin sharing gospel with people and get out of my comfort zone with skits etc.

My Pastor -Thad Caltagirone helped me understand the holy spirit and the power of the holy spirit and that changed everything for me. It was such freedom!
Iris Global Missions taught me to stop for the one. Stop for the One Jesus and the one (person) in front of me. Iris taught me to lay down my life in the dirt and give it all to Him.

Fostering and adopting through Loving Houston Adoption Agency Kim and Martin Dale taught me to let God break my heart for what broke His.
