We had the good fortune of connecting with Zetta Denson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zetta, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
In the beginning years of my business I played it safe. I tried to do everything RIGHT. Risk taking was the furthest thing on my mind. I figured if I followed the path I set out, everything would be great and it wasn’t. I’ve since learned that calculated risks and trying things outside of my norm have brought me success in ways I never could have imagined. Taking risks have opened my life up to some great new experiences recently in both my business and personal life.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Creating Champions Writing is a consulting business that offers pride services ranging from business startup help, businesses plan and grant writing, resume writing, editing services and select personal assistance services. My business likes to take a more personal approach to writing services, I want you to take part in the process because after all, this is your business, your brand. Each service is catered specifically for that client. I wanted to start Creating Champions because I was seeing too many people give up on their business or nonprofit dreams because they do didn’t know where or how to start. I enjoy helping people get their visions down on paper and those plans into action. Starting this business was not easy. There were many challenges and there are still new challenges I face even after being in business for years. I focus on staying true to my why and getting my business to the level I’d like it to be. I’ve learned to keep pushing, especially on the hard days. I’ve learned that failure is the best teacher. I’ve learned that no one is going to do it for me. I’d like the world to know that Creating Champions was started because I want to help people create real and relevant plans to getting their goals achieved.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A good weekend for me would be trying great food. So heading to a great seafood or fine dining restaurant would be our first stop. A quick spa trip and then to the Improv for a comedy show. Enjoying a live band and either a nightclub or house party and wrapping it all up with a worship service.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m a huge believer in God and the fact that he wants me to be successful and blessed. I also give credit to my grandmother who always encouraged and believed I could do anything and my small circle of friends and some family members that push me towards my goals.
