We had the good fortune of connecting with Diana Gomez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Diana, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
One thing about the creative industry that outsiders are probably unaware of is how time consuming it is. Most of the time, you have to work on designs, table layout, ideas, color coordination, and communicate with your client. Sometimes, I have to work overtime to get a small, or last minute detail done. You have to learn to be patient and dedicated in this industry.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
One thing that sets me apart from the others is that I need to hear the wow from my clients. l like to focus on details for every party that l work on. I make sure the clients know that everything we make is specially made for them. I must say it wasn’t easy to get to the point that l am at today. I had to work hard and sacrifice a lot things for this career, but the price was worth it. The most important lesson that l learned is to always be honest, make mistakes, and get things done not matter what. I want the world to know that l can make your party special and memorable.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take my friend to a concert with me at the Toyota center and after that, I would like to show her the city in one of the bicycles that you can rent outside the venue. I would take her to dinner in one of the restaurants we have downtown. I’d let her know that here in Houston we are friendly people and respect everyone’s cultures.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a shoutout to my helper, she is loyal and dedicated to getting things done. She brings new and fresh ideas to the table. I would like to give another shoutout to my mentor Johanna Rivero, Shes really creative and always shares her ideas with us. She’s very smart and funny.
