We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Jeanette Goodwill and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Jeanette, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
Majority of outsiders believe chiropractic is about neck and back pain, but really it’s about is your nervous system functioning properly. Is your body adapting to the everyday stress? People do initially seek care because of pain, but they quickly notice less anxiety, less stress, improve posture, increase flexibility, and better sleep, so it’s definitely more than just neck and back pain.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Inner Peace Chiropractic is a family wellness practice in Houston, TX that focuses on prenatal and pediatric care. I have extensive knowledge through the ICPA for treating moms-to-be and babies. I am Webster Technique certified, which is a pelvic analysis and adjustment for expectant moms to balance their pelvis and allow the baby to move in an optimal position that provides comfort for mom and baby. I’m excited to treat more pregnant mamas and give babies their first adjustment once they are born. I got to this point by being focused, determined, not giving up, and receiving help from fellow chiropractors. This was not easy and it’s still not easy. I constantly pray to overcome challenges and tell myself there’s a new day tomorrow. Some lessons I’ve learned is to be consistent, I am not for everybody, and despite some chiropractors do not believe there is a need for prenatal and pediatric chiropractic to still pursue my passion. I just want the world to know that IPC is a safe place for healing.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my favorite spots for food are the Breakfast Klub, The Turkey Leg Hut, Lopez Mexican Restaurant, and LA Fisherman. If you are Vegan, Soul Food Vegan and Green Seed Vegan are delicious! Axelrad is great for live music and drinks! You can’t go wrong with Escape Room!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a shoutout to Dr. Janair Osarollor and Dr. Lauren Collins for their advice and support. My fitness trainer T’Essence Phelps from Fit to the T for all of the amazing referrals. The ICPA program that continues to give me the knowledge and confident to care for expectant moms, infants, and kiddos. Dr. David Fletcher from CLA Insight for his amazing knowledge on scanning and reporting the findings to practice members. Last, but not least Dr. David Jackson book, The Truth Will Do, gave me the courage to take a leap of faith.
