We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexia Mitchell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my business was simple. I knew I wanted to make a impact to the beauty industry because of the way that I feel after getting dolled up. I have always been the type of woman to keep herself looking presentable and I knew that if I could help other women feel beautiful after receiving a service my heart would be whole. So I started doing my research, and lashes was something that really caught my eye. I knew that with all the different lash styles, lashes would be something I would actually be able to pour my own creativity into. I came up with the name Lavish Aesthetics LLC, because I didn’t want to just keep myself limited to lashes. Eventually, I do want to be able to branch out into hair, makeup, body contouring, with waxing and facials. Lavish came into play because when I hear the word Lavish… I think of luxury, something high in sense, or something expensive. That’s exactly what I wanted my business brand to represent.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business “Lavish Aesthetics LLC” was born this January in 2022. What sets me apart from others is my genuine heart, the passion that I have to make others feel beautiful, and the uplifting spirits I carry whenever I am. I am the most proud about hitting an all time high this month in March 2022 and growing new clientele each and every day. Getting to where I am today has not been easy, but I continue to keep pushing. I am always promoting my business and also networking with other entrepreneurs in the industry as well to get my brand out there. There have been many challenges that I have had to overcome, but with each new challenge is a new lesson. Every time I face a new challenge, I always overcome it by staying calm, thinking out each solution and their consequences, and I always make sure to ask for guidance from someone who has experience in whatever I may have just went through. Some of the lessons I have learned along the way is sometimes it’s okay to take losses. You don’t have to win every battle to be able to come out on top. You just need to win the war. Another lesson that I have learned is to never take advice from someone who isn’t where you want your future self to be. Why would you listen to someone who isn’t successful in life? If you listen to the successful, and apply their knowledge you will be come successful. I want the world to know that my brand is unique. I want Lavish Aesthetics to be able to grow into a one stop shop salon one day. I want my brand to be able to give back to its community and surrounding areas as well as charities. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of my favorite spots in Houston to eat at would be Lost & Found, Taste Bar, and the Turkey Leg Hut. My favorite turn up spots would be Seaside, Karma, Nomad and for clubs it would be Space, Spire, and The Address. I would definitely say the Houston Museums is one of my favorite spots to take someone coming into town, the Houston Zoo, and the Discovery Green area.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shoutout to a special friend, Rylei Lynn for encouraging me and pushing me out of my comfort zone to start something new. Rylei had been doing my lashes since high school and I seen the way she had always been so passionate about it. One day, I asked her would she recommend getting started in the lash industry and she gave me her insight. I will forever be grateful for her giving me the push that I needed for a stepping stone to build something great. I hope to network with her soon.
