Meet Kanishak Sethi | Founder & CEO of Ksproducers

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kanishak Sethi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kanishak, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Since, 14 years old, I spent most of the time with my dad looking at how he runs a successful business. His work inspired me to pursue my dream to have my own business. While doing my undergraduate, I did various jobs such as campus management, production manager etc and even a year before my graduation I applied for full time job. Even got an interview with big 4’s but there was something missing. I was excited to get a job and make good money but then I wondered why not research on starting a business. Once, I started researching within a year or so, I had some kind of ideas of my business and what I wanted to do.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I named my business as Ksproducers, the first two letter KS stands for my name initials and rest producers stands for producing. Our majority of the products are produced at home in India. Ksproducers is not just any other home decor store, we believe in providing our customers with high quality products at affordable prices. I personally experienced that during my college life, all of these stores providing good quality textile or decor products are either so expensive or they will be really inexpensive and not have such good quality. I don’t believe that luxury should cost a fortune, and that everyone should be able to have it.

I am so grateful, that I got a chance early in my life to move forward towards my dream. As we just started at the beginning of 2022, we faced a lot of challenges. The planning process due to covid caused inconvenience such as getting the funding and resources. There was times when I was thinking to delay the process of going forward to my company, but thought there’s never going to be perfect time. I definitely want to thank my family members especially my father for being an investor in my company.

Currently, we have launched products in various categories and every month we launch new products. I want to convey the message to everyone that our goal is to make sure you, “Live with style”. We always want our customers to come back with a smile on their face! On Our online store, at Ksproducers, you will get better service than you expect. We reach out to customers within minutes with a solution. You will get two things at Ksproducers, best service and good quality products.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I always liked hanging out with my friends and exploring new things. Let’s say my friend comes for a whole week. depending on the situation, usually Monday- Friday, I go to work so I’ll definitely take my friend from 9-5pm to my work and show them around the warehouse and show what exactly we do and offer. As I like talking about what we do and what our future goals are!! In the evening, we will eat dinner at home on week nights because I love cooking and I’ll make them try different recipes. Weekend is the fun part, we will definitely go for brunch where we would get good mimosas and Houston weather is quite lovely in summer time.

We will also go play golf and bowling. As these are my to go sports which are fun and likable by usually everyone. Nightlife, in houston is worth to go too. We will definitely hit some bars and clubs on weekend nights and enjoy dancing and music. I am a huge fan of trying new drinks. Usually, Sunday’s are for grilling so that’s what we do, relax and grill burgers and drink beers on the porch and talk about how’s life going on.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I feel lucky to have a lot of people who I want to give shoutout too. Firstly, my family members who are always there for me whenever I need them. My mom and dad always encouraged me to work hard and told me never use negative tactics to hurt any competitors in any way. As we know, behind a man’s success there’s always a woman. I believe that is true, my wife is helping me side by side and she works hard so that my dream can be achieved.

I read somewhere, “True friendship is hard to come by. So when you find it, cherish it.” There is no better way of saying it, towards building this business my friends plays an essential role. I spent most of my adulthood with my friends. I made a lot of friends and joined a lot of clubs and organizations. I consider myself an extrovert person who likes talking to people and make friends along the road.

I want to give a big shoutout to my greek life brothers, Theta Chi Albany Chapter, who always gave me suggestions and motivation towards moving forward. There’s not a single day in my life now where I don’t talk to at least one of them. They are always and forever be my family.

Lastly, I can’t thank enough to my childhood friends who always there for me even though we didn’t meet for last 3-4 years. I believe that because of everyone blessing and positivity towards me reflected me to start this business and do great things in future.
