We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelsey Holloway and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelsey, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from a very small town called Bastrop, Louisiana. I moved to Houston, Tx 8 years ago. When I left Bastrop , Louisiana i knew I wanted more. Growing up in a rural area helped me to become who I am today and wanted me to be able to help take care of my family.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Coming from a small town like Bastrop, Louisiana. I always knew I wanted more. Growing up I watched my mother braid, style, and cut hair. I found it fascinating and later started practicing on friends and family members. I went on to attend cosmetology school and later moved to Houston. After a few years of being in Houston working retail jobs I became pregnant with my beautiful daughter whom later was diagnosed with Autism. After the diagnosis I immediately knew I would need more time with my daughter as she would need more time and attention. I then decided to pursue my career as a entrepreneur. I figured with making my own schedule it would free up more time where I could actually spend time with my daughter. After , starting my career I began to analyze different problems within the hair/beauty industry clients were complaining about so I could actually solve a few of those problems within my business, such as washing and conditioning hair without an extra service fee, learning proper techniques to prevent hair damage and breaking during braiding and styling as well as offer these services at an reasonable yet affordable price. If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Houston is full of adventure. My favorite places to hang out are Discovery Green and Midtown Park. I love the diversity Houston has to offer.
