We had the good fortune of connecting with Melinda Spurling and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Melinda, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
The reason I pursued an artistic and creative career, is because I love not having to restrict my gift to suit someone else’s mindset. I believe that being an entrepreneur gives you the freedom to create and bring to life something worthy enough for the public to want to become consumers & repeat.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am the proud owner of Unleash Me Hair Boutique where we “Freely Create You”. We are set apart from every salon. I’m in the area because of the atmosphere and warmth of the salon. You want to have a good customer service experience right? Unleash Me Umhair says it all. We create hairstyles that give you the motivation to face the world with new attitudes and new hairstyles at the same time. To get to where I am now took a lot of hard work and humbling moments. I went from renting a chair at someone else’s salon to opening my own, in the mist of the Covid pandemic. It wasn’t easy but with God’s help and a little faith I conquered my own giant. I’ve learned to never stop pushing forward and believe in yourself. Unleash Me Hair Boutique will continue to make the beautiful women of the Houston area look and feel like the Queens that they are In ever aspect of the word.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank my mom for listening to my dreams and aspirations in life and she never shrugged off my ideas. She always encourages me and she offers me Sound advices which I love so much
