We had the good fortune of connecting with Bianca Jean-Charles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bianca, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind me starting my own business was to gain financial freedom for one. I also wanted to provide  timeless pieces of fashion to women who love to look good in great unique and quality clothes.

What should our readers know about your business?
Alamòd Boutique is an online fashion boutique for women who love to look good for any occasion. We offer great quality clothes for working, traveling and going out with women. What makes us apart from other clothing brands is the pieces we offer. They are unique pieces that provide versatility. What I am most proud of when it comes to my brand is my customers that I call CEO. I love the exclusive service that I provide to them. I love when I receive a message or a photo of how much they love the pieces of clothing that they received from Alamòd boutique. Seeing my customers happy gives me the push to keep on going in my business.

Working a full time job and then coming home to work on my business is a challenge. However, consistency is what helps me still show up for my business till today. Being organized, setting a few hours aside to work on my business while working a full time job is what helps me overcome the challenges I face with my business. When I am not organized with my business I become drained due to me not planning in advance. Being organized and planning ahead in business is the key to less stress!

In business I learned to have a team, to delegate, to take breaks as well. Us CEO can sometimes work, work, work and not reward ourselves. In business you will always be learning and to not take anything personal.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
NYC has a lot of exciting things to offer from food, to activities, events and even the people. As an island girl, whose parents are from haiti. I would definitely have my best friend at my parent’s house to try my mother’s cooking. My best friend loves my mother’s cooking. Then we would go to a museum that has a new exhibit in NYC. We are foodies so I would definitely take her to my favorite restaurant called Sofrito, then head to a paint and sip class.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a shoutout to everyone who gave me the push to start my own business. I always thought I needed a massive amount of funds to start a business. All I needed was to start and I thank everyone again who gave me the push to start.
