We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeanil Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeanil, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
If you feel like giving up, thats when you SHOULD keep going. If you really want something, you have to go through the difficulty first!
There has been plenty of times where I felt like giving up, only because I was either not seeing results, or just hearing negativity from the people around me, but you just have to think about the reason WHY you started in the first place. Once you know and understand your “why,” nothing can get in the way. Also, surround yourself with people who have the same goals as you and is in a position where you want to be. Negative people will not help you succeed.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
First, I want to mention that I did not come from a business background. I started a side business, Confetti Me Sweets LLC from the ground up and learned everything I know from Pinterest and Youtube. Now, I have a commercial kitchen, I wholesale to local coffee shops and bakeries, and I am still growing it everyday.
When it comes to real estate, I decided to start taking real estate classes right before Covid shut everything down. I got licensed during the summer of 2020 and immediately got to work! What helped me a lot in the business is my ability to speak Spanish. About 90% of my clients are only Spanish speakers and they’re also investors, meaning they come to me to buy fixer uppers and I am also their listing agent. When it comes to real estate, it is definitely not easy when you do not know what to do. Also people don’t realize that you only get paid when you close on a house, so I wasted a lot of time with unqualified buyers.
When it comes to business, I always make sure that my clients are aware of the good, the bad, the ugly. I don’t work just to make money, but I truly care about how I make someone’s experience with me. Whether it’s buying or selling a home, I will be the one to tell my client if something is not good for them. Same with my macaron business, I will never deliver anything with poor quality.
Client satisfaction is everything!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My little girls, Jahlia and Zoey are my biggest motivation for my success and why I do what I do.
My friend and mentor Scott who passed away this Easter opened up my eyes to many things about life and was the most motivational person in my life
