We asked folks to tell us about their favorite quote or affirmation and to tell us what it means to them. We’ve shared some of those responses below.

“You shall know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free” John 8:32. This is one of my favorite quotations, because it inspires and encourages me to keep seeking and knowing the Truth. Knowing the Truth enables me to think and act in ways that align to the Truth – because I am set free from being held hostage to what is not true. Sometimes, it is hard to see the Truth: it can get covered up with too many distractions. Or, our brains will try to invent things that it thinks are true — such as trying to fill in our blind spots or filling our minds with the worries or anxieties that may tell us we are not worthy or not enough. But, these are just thoughts, and not all thoughts are true. So how do we know what is true – how do we know the Truth? Well, Truth-seeking and Truth-knowing become very, very important work. “There are in fact two things, science and opinion; The former begets knowledge, the latter ignorance.” – Hippocrates If an athlete staggers off the playing field or court, the coach and trainers need to determine the extent of any injuries that may cause additional harm if play were allowed to continue. You could offer an opinion as the extent of any injury, or you can collect measurements that provide facts that allow for an outcome-based evaluation about any possible injury. We all have opinions, always have. But we shouldn’t allow our opinions to superseded or replaced facts. I truly love what I do every day. I’ve built my practice to be my dream job. I can take my time visiting with clients and develop a personal bond with them. As a plastic surgeon, I look forward to the variety of transformative procedures I do. The most rewarding thing about my job is that clients come back after surgery as happier people. I am humbled by the fact that people trust me to do such highly personal procedures on them and the results are so meaningful to them.
