My favorite affirmation is “I know who I am. I know where I’m from. I know what I know.” I created it after experiencing a hard case of imposter syndrome. The situation left me deeply questioning my truth, so I needed a constant reminder for myself. To me, the affirmation is a form of grounding. It reminds me that I am in certain spaces because of who I am and where I come from. I deserve to be in these spaces and I am more than capable of being successful. I am intelligent and iconic because it is in my bloodline. My family and my hometown are a huge part of me. It’s a boundary. It’s me saying “You have no power over me because I know myself too damn well.” I write my own narrative and I am proud of it. Read more>>
I would have to say that my favorite quote is Jennifer Lee’s ” Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.” I think for a large part of my adult life I struggled with which path to go down. I feel like often our society views success solely in dollars and how fast you can climb a corporate ladder. Now that may spark the fire within some people, but I’ve always felt I needed more. It was hard for me to put myself out there and go a different route. This quote really resonates with me and reminds me that even when it seems scary or impossible, finding that spark that brings a type of joy that runs through your body and flows from your fingertips makes it all worthwhile.
