We had the good fortune of connecting with Aisha Dyer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aisha, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I have always had a passion for creativity and self-expression. As a child, I loved to draw and paint, and I found that creating art was a way for me to communicate my thoughts and emotions in a way that words could not. As I grew older, I realized that pursuing a career in the arts would allow me to continue to explore my creativity while also sharing my work with others.
I also believe that art has the power to inspire and bring people together. Whether it’s through an impactful painting, a moving performance, or a handmade craft, art has the ability to evoke emotions and spark conversations that can lead to positive change.
Overall, I chose to pursue a career in the arts because it allows me to pursue my passion while also making a meaningful impact on the world around me.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our business is all about bringing people together through the power of creativity. We offer art workshops for private events, pop-up workshops, and corporate team building events. What sets us apart from others is our focus on creating a fun and engaging experience that allows everyone to tap into their creativity, regardless of their skill level.
We are most proud of the positive feedback we have received from our clients. Seeing the joy and satisfaction on their faces after completing a creative project is truly rewarding. We are also excited about the growth of our business, as we have been able to expand our offerings and reach a wider audience.
Getting to where we are today business-wise was not easy. We faced many challenges along the way, including finding the right location for our workshops, establishing partnerships with other businesses, and marketing our services effectively. However, we overcame these challenges by staying focused on our mission and being persistent in our efforts to grow and improve.
Some of the lessons we have learned along the way include the importance of building relationships with our clients and partners, the value of being adaptable and flexible in our approach, and the need to continuously innovate and evolve to stay ahead of the competition.
What we want the world to know about our brand and story is that we are passionate about helping people tap into their creativity and express themselves through art. We believe that everyone has a creative spark within them, and we strive to provide a welcoming and supportive environment where people can explore their artistic side and have fun in the process. Whether it’s a private event, pop-up workshop, or corporate team building event, we are committed to creating a memorable and enjoyable experience for all.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the Houston area, I would definitely make sure to show them all the amazing art and culture this city has to offer. Here’s a little itinerary for a week-long trip:
Day 1: Arrival and Welcome Dinner
We would kick off the trip with a welcome dinner at one of Houston’s amazing restaurants, perhaps Coltivare or Xochi, both of which offer delicious farm-to-table cuisine.
Day 2: Museum Day
Houston is home to some incredible museums, and we would spend the day exploring them. We would start with the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, which has an amazing collection of art from around the world. After that, we would head to the Menil Collection, which houses an impressive collection of art from ancient to modern times. We would end the day with a visit to the Rothko Chapel, a serene and contemplative space filled with stunning works of art.
Day 3: Art Workshop and Gallery Hopping
As the owner of an art business, I would definitely want to show my friend what we do. We would spend the day taking an art workshop, perhaps creating a candle together. After that, we would visit some of Houston’s amazing art galleries, such as the Art League Houston and the Houston Center for Photography.
Day 4: Day Trip to Galveston
Houston is only a short drive from the beautiful coastal town of Galveston, and we would spend the day exploring its historic downtown district, visiting the beach and enjoying some fresh seafood at one of the local restaurants.
Day 5: Houston Zoo and Beer Garden
Houston Zoo is one of the best in the country, and we would spend the day there, checking out the amazing animals.
Day 6: Discovery Green and Downtown Houston
We would spend the day at Discovery Green, a beautiful urban park in the heart of downtown Houston. We would check out the events and activities happening there, and then explore the rest of downtown, including the iconic Houston skyline and the historic Market Square Park.
Day 7: Farewell Brunch
We would end the trip with a farewell brunch at one of Houston’s amazing breakfast spots, such as the Breakfast Klub or Tiny Boxwoods. We would reminisce about all the amazing experiences we had during the trip, and make plans for our next adventure together.
Overall, Houston is a city full of amazing art, culture, and food, and I would be thrilled to show my friend all the incredible things this city has to offer.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
As a small business owner, I want to dedicate my shoutout to a few different groups of people who have been instrumental in my success.
First and foremost, I want to thank my family, who have been my biggest supporters and cheerleaders from day one. Their love and encouragement have given me the confidence to pursue my dreams and start my own business.
I also want to give a shoutout to my clients, who have shown me so much support and loyalty over the years. Their trust in my business has allowed me to grow and thrive, and I am grateful for each and every one of them.
Lastly, I want to acknowledge and thank my fellow small business owners, who have been an incredible source of inspiration, motivation, and support. We are all in this together, and I am constantly in awe of the creativity, resilience, and determination of my fellow entrepreneurs.
Overall, I am grateful to be surrounded by such amazing people who have helped me get to where I am today. I couldn’t have done it without them, and I look forward to continuing to learn from and work with them in the future.
