We had the good fortune of connecting with Alec Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alec, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
Hi guys, I’m from a not so big town in the Dallas, Texas area, I think that where I came from has had a huge impact on my success. Coming from a smaller town a lot of people talk and a lot of hate and toxicity is spread throughout the town, whether it is true or it isn’t true it happens. My junior and senior year that was me, I was the one constantly being made fun of and talked about throughout the town and school. Everyone knew I had a different than most kind of style and everyone knew I wanted to be a video creator, I don’t know I guess it’s just in my blood. Nothing I’ve ever done even playing football at the collegiate level doesn’t give me the drive and satisfaction that making videos does in my heart. Being the talk of the town not in a good way, but being that talk of the town really drove me to constantly want to prove others wrong about myself and to prove to others that if you have a dream, chase it and follow your passions until you create the life you dreamed of. And by no means am I close to being to where I want to be, but each and everyday I’m a step closer to where I want to be and if you put your mind to it you can do anything you want too. Dedicate your time to your passion and believe in yourself.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
It’s not an easy road by any means, but I think what sets me apart from others is my drive to outwork people. Some hard lessons I learned along the way is that those friends you have with you currently 90% of those people won’t be there in the end, so build a close circle and hold those guys near to your heart. I would like everyone to know that I may not be the biggest creator, but one day I strive to be the biggest creator in the world and if you put your mind too it you can do it as well!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Day 1: Pro float surfing
(pro float surfing is basically a surf simulator kind of like wake boarding with a trampoline underneath your board)

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Someone that deserves a ton of credit in my journey is my mom and grandmother. I was 20 years old when I decided to drop my college football career and college classes to work full time and put everything I made or had into making videos and creating my own brand and I don’t think I’d be where I was today if my mom and grandmother gave up on my and didn’t tell me that I would be someone someday.
