Meet Allah Davis

We had the good fortune of connecting with Allah Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Allah, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My business has significantly impacted the community since I started it in 2018. Over the years, it has grown into a vibrant and supportive community that has strengthened the modeling industry in Houston. When I began, there weren’t many opportunities in the local modeling scene, but now, in 2024, we have a thriving network of models, designers, and creative professionals. This growth has not only provided numerous opportunities for individuals in the industry but has also fostered a sense of unity and collaboration within the community.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I began my journey in fashion, it all started back in college. Leon Spencer approached me and Zulu to see if we wanted to do a fashion show. From that moment, I grew to love fashion, seeing people express their unique characters through their clothing, and having the opportunity to orchestrate it all. I discovered a passion for directing fashion shows and managing the fashion scene, bringing new energy and light to it.
Starting my business, Wear Models, was far from easy. There were events where it was just me and my girlfriend, and times when nobody showed up. But as my love for fashion grew, I also embraced the business aspect of it. It’s not enough to have a passion for something—you need to understand every facet of it. I had to learn how to market, promote, and manage models, as well as develop the brand itself.
Overcoming these challenges required me to really lock in and spread the word. I had to embody the business, showing other models that what I was doing was worth their time and effort. One key lesson I’ve learned is the importance of putting yourself out there. As a model, you have to be proactive in getting noticed. You have to want it, believe in yourself, and know you look good. This mindset has been crucial in my journey and in growing Wear Models into what it is today. Through perseverance and dedication, I’ve had the privilege to work in major fashion hubs like New York and California, expanding my reach and influence. This journey has been about more than just fashion—it’s about building a community and creating opportunities for others to shine.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a heartfelt shout-out to my grandfather, Jacob Massey. He has been the father I never had, always providing wisdom and knowledge whenever I need him. He is truly one of a kind, a steadfast man who doesn’t change for anyone and loves my grandmother deeply. Their love, which has lasted over 40 years, is a testament to his faithfulness. Though he might not be the richest or most successful man in the world, he is the rock of my life. Losing him would be devastating, but his influence has been a cornerstone of my success. Grandpa, thank you for giving me the mind and knowledge I have today. I owe so much to you.
