We had the good fortune of connecting with Allison Cursey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Allison, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I always had a passion for cosmetic and fashion, but I love the fact I am able to enhance one’s beauty.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a makeup artist, I am constantly learning clients and new trends which keeps it exciting. I believe every artist is unique in their work, but what sets me apart is by staying true to what I believe is beautiful. I don’t compete or compare my work to others. I try my best to deliver what each client wants along with my ideas. Faith & Confidence is what brought me to where I am now. However, I am not settling for I want to be further in my makeup career. Nothing is never easy, but I make sacrifices and try to give my all which is what counts the most. Consistency is what I learned and still grasping as I progress in my career. You have to put forth the effort to receive results. I would like the world to know me for my artistry!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am for sure a foodie, I would definitely take my best friend to my favorite sushi lounge, Sozo Sushi on Post Oak Blvd. We would then head over to Del Frisco’s -located in the Galleria for my favorite martini, the signature VIP. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my mother & sister.. My mother has instilled in me to never give up on what I love! She prepared me with the foundation I needed in order to thrive in life. My sister, Lauren is for sure my number one fan! She supports my dreams and passion to the fullest! She is definitely the perfect “hype man”. Lol Needless to say, they both keep me grounded!
