We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Sullivan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?

My thought process was questioning myself, if I can do what’s necessary to maintain my business. We have all heard other business owners say it’s trial and error. I must admit it’s definitely trial and error but make sure that you’re willing to learn from it. Starting a business starts slow and it may take a few years before you see results.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

My work is improving more and more everyday. I’m proud that I’ve been giving opportunities to get my business name acknowledged in high places. Getting to this day now has been challenging and rewarding at the same time. Overcoming my challenges was easy, by not giving up! I’ve learned that giving up is easy but when you keep going and trying anything is possible. I want others to know about my brand. Beauti and the Beatz is going up and will never give up!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

That’s easy, stay at home. Lol, just kidding! Have you experienced this triple heat in Houston? I like to travel and loving to visit local restaurants. I would say I like to look at TikTok for the most authentic restaurants to visit. I love Soulfood and Mexican food. We also have good brunch spots I like The State Fare, Taste Bar and so much more. I prefer to go on TikTok for good brunch locations in Houston.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

I would like to thank God for allowing me the opportunity to see my gift that he has given me. My kids are also a BIG PART of my support. I would like to thank my friend and hairstylist Ma’nikka Trim ( Coco) my Coco thank you for continuing to support and push me in everything I do. Love you boo!
