We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I put in the work. You don’t make money sleeping. I’m a bit of a workaholic. I’m constantly thinking about the next step and how I can “one-up” myself. I strive to be everyone’s go-to. That’s what I want to be known for, the company/person everyone in the industry can rely on. That’s what has made us so successful so far.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started in the service industry when I was just 18 years old. I had a few other jobs in between but always seemed to find my way back. When I was 35, I was working a side gig for a really sweet couple. We were bartenders for private events (weddings, corporate, parties, etc.) I was enrolled in nursing school at the time because I was working a full time job in the ER. I lost my job and thought about what I was meant to do in this world. It quickly dawned on me and I told my husband; I’m going to stat a mobile bar business. 3 weeks later I was a registered LLC ready to hit the scene. I quickly made a lot of friends in the industry and we were doing triple the forecasted sales. It was a lot of work, networking, social media, Thumbtack and other outlets but it was really paying off. I don’t take no for an answer and selling my business to others was second nature for me. I had spent years in corporate restaurants in every role (except the BOH) so it was easy for me to take what I had learned and make it work for my business. I’ve evolved from just the bartending and now were a full service event company. We offer Day of Coordination, bartenders, servers, and much more.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I hope my friend is coming in the summer because it’s too cold in NH during the winter! The beach and seacoast has a lot to offer. One of my favorite restaurants is the Sea Ketch. Its right on the ocean and has great seafood. There’s even a ballroom that has a lot of shows and famous acts. Our little city of Nashua has great dining, too so I’d definitely bring them to Stella Blu and Strangebrew in Manchester, NH.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband deserves the biggest shout out! I’m a perfectionist but a bit of a diva( It’s partially his fault for always giving in to me) He’s there at my every beckoning call, big or small, ridiculous or not, he just does it. I have crazy ideas and he keeps me grounded with an eye on the prize. He’s my biggest fan, too. My parents are right there next to him. I have an enormous support system.
