We had the good fortune of connecting with Leighanne Herr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leighanne, how do you think about risk?
To some degree, every move we make in life is a risk because we can never really know how it’s going to play out. Obviously some things have a higher associated risk than others but to accomplish anything I believe we have to be willing to put everything on the table. I have never been shy of taking risks, and I am forever grateful to God that the times I have been willing to risk the most and take a leap of faith he has always seen me through.

What should our readers know about your business?
We are primarily a photo studio that rents different spaces out to other photographers. We also cater to very intimate events. The idea for the studio had been brewing for a while as I was a photographer shooting weddings and was getting very burnt out. My parents were moving out of the home I grew up in and I thought it would be the perfect place to renovate and still be able to stay in the creative industry while giving myself a break from shooting. The renovation process was extremely stressful and going into this I wasn’t sure how well we were going to do or if people would even be interested but the risk definitely paid off and I am so happy with where we are at. It’s amazing being able to share the home that holds so many memories for me and watching others create memories here as well. I am so excited about everything we are planning for the future; this year we are offering themed sets that photographers can book and I’m really looking forward to that!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am honestly not much of a city person at all so we would probably be going to the Huntsville State Park or other state forests and hiking/camping!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Hands down my immediate family; specifically my dad, mom, husband, sisters, aunt and uncle and grandparents. I am who I am because of the love/help/support they have always shown me.
