We had the good fortune of connecting with Angel Cromer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angel, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Honestly, risk is such a scary word. But I’ve always aspired to own a business and risk is just a part of it. So I’d like to say that I’m a cautious and informed risk taker. I didn’t grow up with much, so I know what the bottom feels like and the risk of losing everything is a great motivator. Despite everything, my mother, who has a masters degree in business, taught me a lot of what I still use today. She taught me about contracts, negotiations, and money management. These are all aspects of business that will help me turn my one–woman business into a success. 

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m passionate about skincare and making people look and feel their best. It is what I try to do every day through Luxxe Day Spa. It’s important to me to build longstanding and trusting relationships with each client.  Because whether we’d like to admit it, a person’s physical appearance, including the health of their skin, is the first thing people will notice. I want my clients to feel like I provide a safe space to talk openly about their skincare concerns and that I will help them address them. With the constant evolution of the skincare industry, Luxxe Day Spa will continue to grow and include new and innovative services. I’m here to help you look and feel incredible in your skin.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would suggest that anyone visiting Houston attend a sporting event. We Houstonians take pride in our teams and the games are filled with spirit and energy. I would also suggest attending events at Discovery Green, including flea market night or if they’re lucky, a movie night. So grab a bottle of wine, blanket, and some tapas and spend some time outside in this beautiful January weather.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t know where to begin! My friends and family have been great supporters and it surprises me still how much my clients root for me. I have clients that have been with me since the beginning and I think it is a testiment to the relationship and trust we’ve built. I still recall one of my clients saying to me “If you leave this spa, please tell me where you’re going. Nobody else is allowed to touch my face.” That alone told me that I was, even for an hour, making their day that much better. Goal accomplished!
